Annapolis Area Lunch - December, 2015
Report and picture were submitted by Judy Flood

Over many years Warren Graham perfected a model for monthly luncheons; the VA and MD teams worked to replicate it in December. There were 10 attendees including 2 guests, all from the Annapolis area. Dave Carruth, the VA Team (Jean Mertz, Diana Keenan, Rosemary Hogg, Grace Harkins), and the MD Team (Helga Smith, Amante Carlquist, Judy Flood) worked tirelessly to contact class members and then confirmed main course selections.

Bob Flood welcomed the group for lunch and gave a blessing. Our meal included a mixed green salad, and the choice of Chicken Marsala, Beef Short Ribs, or Fish & Chips. Bob shared a brief sit rep about classmates in the Washington area, and we voiced get-wishes for Charlie Mertz, John Fry, and Kevin Hanlon.  The attendees then enjoyed a delightful array of lighted cupcakes and frosted brownies for dessert.  We sang Happy Birthday to Roger Carlquist who will turn 90 in January, and packaged a special birthday cupcake for John Fry. With hugs and farewells, the group looked forward to our next football game on December 12th. Go Navy, Beat Army.

The Class of ’48 attendees included: Amante and Roger Carlquist, Judy and Bob Flood, Leila Holstein, Phil Rogers, and Helga and Bob Smith.  Doug and Judi Hayman from the Class of 1956 joined us as guests.

Respectfully submitted, Judith D. Flood, Ed.D.

Editor's Note; The luncheon was held at the Heritage Harbor Clubhouse in Annapolis.
